Alhambra : Zoning Exemptions OKd
The City Council on Monday approved exemptions for six of 11 properties whose owners had already prepared building plans when an interim zoning measure was adopted last month restricting building on residential properties designated for two units.
The measure, which expires in September, 1993, allows the city to study the downzoning of some of the areas to protect established neighborhoods of single-family homes.
The council agreed to re-examine the 11 projects, which had received Planning Commission review before the measure’s Oct. 26 enactment. One of the 11 property owners received a refund of his application fees to withdrew his project. Of the remaining 10, four were denied exemptions because they are in areas which may be reclassified single-family.
