PLATFORM : President Clinton, Don’t Make Us Wait
- Share via
President-elect Clinton, we African-American males voted for you in record numbers, acting on our belief that you will make democracy work for us.
We are ready.
We expected Eisenhower to act. We waited. We joined with Kennedy. We waited. Nixon gave us pause. We waited. We saw the future with Carter and waited. Reagan. We waited. Bush filled us with promise. We waited.
Our problems continue even though the solutions are right there in front of us all.
America, be fair. We want to believe, but we don’t want to be fools. We want to participate, but we don’t want to be used. We don’t have time to wait. We are ready to share in the American Dream.
President Clinton, be fair. Don’t make us wait. We are ready, America. Are you?
