Disneyland Project: On the subject of Disneyland, the new Mickey’s Toon Town area is almost ready to open. It is so far along in preparation for a January debut, in fact, that the park hosted a party recently for the project’s contractors and their families.
The main reason, Disneyland President Jack Lindquist said, was to thank the work crews for their efforts in re-creating the child-oriented land of animated characters seen in the movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” Knowing that they would be taking their families to see the new attraction at its completion may have given them an extra incentive to hurry the project along.
