SANTA ANA — A 19-year-old motorist died at the scene early Saturday morning when he lost control of his car and it collided with another vehicle, police reported.
The man, a Santa Ana resident, was not identified pending notification of relatives.
Police Sgt. Roger Scharf said the accident occurred at 12:18 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Cypress and McFadden avenues. Scharf said the teen-ager was westbound on McFadden when he “lost control and swerved into eastbound lanes.” The youth’s car struck a car that was turning from Cypress onto McFadden, he said.
The other driver, a 28-year-old Santa Ana man who also was not identified, suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at a local hospital, Scharf said.
