Dominguez Hills Beats Southern Colorado

Vincent Washington scored 16 points Saturday night to lead the Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s basketball team to a 54-51 victory over Southern Colorado in the consolation game of the Holiday Classic tournament at Baskersfield.

The Toros led, 52-51, with six seconds left, when Washington was fouled. He made two free throws and Southern Colorado inbounded the ball, but was unable to get off a shot.

Joey Haythorn of Southern Colorado (5-6) led all scorers with 21 points.

The Toros (5-2) were defeated by Missouri Western, 71-68, Friday night in the first round of the tournament.
