Woman Dies After Being Hit by Car

A 75-year-old Van Nuys woman died of injuries suffered when she was struck by a car while walking home on Christmas Eve, Los Angeles police said Saturday.
The woman, whose name was not made public pending notification of relatives, was walking across Vanowen Street near Sepulveda Boulevard about 8:25 p.m. Thursday when a car headed east on Vanowen hit her, police said. She was walking home from a convenience store.
She died about 12:20 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, police said. The driver, Eric Jesmer, 22, of Van Nuys, was not cited and the accident is still under investigation.
