Top Dogs: Confirming an earlier report, the Irish rock group U2 was the highest-grossing act on the road in 1992, taking in $67 million from a 73-show “Zoo TV” tour of the United States. The Grateful Dead was second on the list with $31.2 million, according to the industry newsletter Pollstar. Next were Guns N’ Roses and Metallica, which toured jointly, Neil Diamond and Bruce Springsteen.
