CAMARILLO : Planners Approve 120-Foot Antenna
- Share via
The Camarillo Planning Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved a proposal by Pactel Cellular to build a 120-foot-tall antenna near Lewis Road and Temple Avenue.
The commission’s approval came after Pactel Cellular of Irvine had withdrawn two previous applications for the project.
Pactel withdrew the first application because of a conflict with an existing easement on the proposed site.
The company then proposed to build the tower about 100 feet east of Lewis Road north of Temple Avenue, sparking objections from residents on the opposite side of Lewis Road.
After discussions with city planners, the company agreed to put the antenna farther from residential areas and from Lewis Road, which is classified as a scenic highway under Camarillo’s General Plan.
The tower will be located just south of Corte Malpaso, about 450 feet east of Lewis Road.
