A survey of NCAA Division I-A football coaches and assistants found most believe college players should be paid.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution surveyed 51 coaches at the annual American Football Coaches Assn. convention. The 51 represent nearly half of the 107 Division I-A schools.
--71% said players should receive some form of payment.
--61% said they would like to see a multi-team playoff for the national title.
--69% said they would support a system allowing underclassmen to enter the NFL draft, with the option of returning to school.
