* Williams-Sonoma Inc., the upscale home-and-garden merchandiser, announced the resignations of Kent Larson, president and chief operating officer, and Glen Senk, senior vice president and general merchandising manager.
Gary Friedman, formerly senior vice president for retail operations, was named executive vice president and will lead the San Francisco company’s retail efforts. That will include the company’s three best-known chains--Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Hold Everything.
Pat Connolly, who was senior vice president for mail-order operations, will have full responsibility for the mail-order division, including Gardener’s Eden and Chambers catalogues.
Friedman and Connolly will report directly to W. Howard Lester, chairman and chief executive.
