Felix Grucci; Founder of Premier Fireworks Firm

Felix Grucci, 87, founder of one of the world’s most acclaimed fireworks manufacturers. He founded the Grucci Fireworks Co. in 1929. In 1979 it became the first U.S. company to win the international fireworks competition in Monte Carlo. In the 1980s, his company put on displays at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid and Los Angeles and at New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty centennials. This Sunday, the Gruccis will put on a display for their fourth consecutive presidential inauguration. In Bellport, N.Y., on Saturday of the complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
