Optimism Follows Kyman’s Surgery

Coley Kyman, an All-American middle blocker for the Cal State Northridge men’s volleyball team, received encouraging news Thursday after arthroscopic surgery was performed on his right knee.
Kyman had been suffering from “femoral cartilage irritation,” according to Rhonda Lowry, the school trainer. She said the 6-foot-6 senior might be ready to return to practice as soon as Monday.
Northridge, ranked No. 4 in Division I preseason polls, opens action today in the UC Santa Barbara tournament in Goleta.
