Outrage, Fear in Coping With Violence, Hate
- Share via
I have spent the last two years in Berlin, Germany, and have witnessed the violent, fiery and sometimes fatal attacks on foreigners there with horror and despair. Imagine my dismay upon returning home to find the same kind of hatred, ignorance and intolerance in my own hometown--a city widely known for its tolerance.
It is my hope that the young men who beat Loc Minh Truong within inches of his life for no real reason are sufficiently punished.
It is important that the police, prosecutors and judges involved in this case realize that a message will be sent through the legal outcome of this incident. May it be that this sort of intolerance, blind hatred and violence cannot and will not be tolerated.
