World champion Franz Heinzer won his third World Cup downhill of the season, beating Olympic champion Patrick Ortlieb of Austria at Veysonnaz, Switzerland. William Besse of Switzerland was third.
Melting snow forced cancellation of a women’s World Cup downhill at Haus, Austria. The temperature got up to 57 degrees, and conditions were deemed too dangerous for racing.
