Faith Baptist Backs Granzow, DeCarriere Named to All-Southern Section 8-Man Team

Backfield mates Judd Granzow and James DeCarriere of Faith Baptist High have been named to the first team of the All-Southern Section large-schools division eight-man football team.
Granzow is a sophomore quarterback and DeCarriere is a senior running back. Joe Rainey, a senior running back from Campbell Hall, also made the team.
Senior quarterback Kris Kershaw of Antelope Valley Christian was a first-team selection in the small-schools division.
Cleveland High alumni will face the L.A. Heat in a benefit football game Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. at Cleveland.
The Heat is a team composed of Los Angeles firefighters. Proceeds will benefit the Cleveland football team.

Applications are being accepted for a tennis tournament in which wheelchair players are paired with non-disabled athletes. The event will be held Feb. 27-28 at Pierpont Racquet Club in Ventura.
Teams will be randomly selected the first day.
Proceeds will benefit recreational programs for people with physical disabilities in the Ventura area.
