Lamoureux Leaving Rutgers, Basketball

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Andre Lamoureux, a senior center who started six games for Rutgers, has left the school for academic reasons, the school announced Thursday.
Lamoureux, a graduate of Los Alamitos High, averaged 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in 13 games for the Scarlet Knights.
“My intention is to come back this summer and finish my degree,” Lamoureux said in a statement released by the school. “My basketball career may be over but my academic career is not.”
