HOLLYWOOD : Grenades Discovery Prompts Complaint

Maher Hathout, chairman of the Islamic Center of Southern California, has filed a complaint with Los Angeles Police Chief Willie L. Williams over an incident this week in which he said hand grenades were found under the car of a woman of Bosnian-Muslim descent who was attending a meeting of a peace coalition at a Hollywood church.
Detective Steve Spear, of the LAPD’s criminal conspiracy section, said that two practice hand grenades, which had been rendered inert, were found under a vehicle a block and a half from the Mount Hollywood Congregational Church, but there was nothing linking them to the meeting.
