Apartment House Blaze Kills Nine

LUDINGTON, Mich. — A fire swept through an apartment building early Sunday, killing nine people and injuring one, officials said.
The fire, which broke out shortly after midnight, destroyed the cement-block building, which contained five apartments.
The nine dead included eight children, said Mason County Sheriff’s Deputy Bruce Patterson.
