Latinos Under-Represented Among Executives, Group Says: Less than 1% of top officials of Fortune 500 industrial firms are Latino, and an even lower number hold such jobs in Fortune 500 service firms, a study says. The Hispanic Assn. on Corporate Responsibility said Latinos hold only 81 of 11,881 executive positions in the 500 industrial corporations. To match their share of the population, there would have to be 1,070 Latinos in such jobs, said Richard Jose Bela, the association’s president and author of the study. His Washington-based group monitors corporate treatment of Latinos in hiring, promotion, contracts and philanthropy.
