NEWPORT BEACH : Public Safety Topic of Cable TV Show

The city’s public safety departments were featured Tuesday night in a new cable television program entitled “Newport on Scene.”
The half-hour show is designed to keep “citizens informed of vital safety information,” Police Sgt. Andy Gonis said.
Tuesday night’s episode featured representatives of the Fire, Marine Safety and Police departments discussing the city’s disaster-response plan. The show coincided with disaster-preparedness exercises carried out by city departments last week, Gonis said.
Episodes of the city-produced program will be shown on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. on Channel 3, Gonis said. Other city departments will contribute to future episodes.
