Allbee, from Edison High School, got off to a rough start at Golden West. He lost his first two starts and had an earned-run average of almost 5.00.
But he erased many of his early-season woes by pitching a no-hitter against Palomar in a 10-0 nonconference victory Saturday in Huntington Beach. It was the first no-hitter in the history of Golden West baseball.
Allbee, who relies on his fastball much of the time, struck out 15 and retired the final 14 batters he faced. He walked one and two reached on errors. Allbee (1-2) has 28 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings this season.
Other top performers:
Antoine Jefferson, who scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds and three steals as Saddleback beat East Los Angeles, 89-84, in overtime.
Randy Karliner, who had five hits in eight at-bats, scored four runs and drove in eight in two games for Orange Coast.
Bobby Natoya, who scored 25 points, including the winning basket--a three-pointer with three seconds left--as Fullerton upset Cerritos, 78-76.
