Buchanan on Clinton
I am pleased that Pat Buchanan finally understands elementary civics. In his commentary (Feb. 21) he states, “What Clinton and Clinton are proposing . . . (is that) money is to be taken from individuals and businesses who earn it and turned over to politicians and bureaucrats to spend it.” He’s got it, the concept of democracy. E pluribus unum : From many, one.
You see, we, the people, give money to the government to sweep the streets in front of our homes and businesses. Now, of course, if Buchanan prefers it, we can leave it up to individuals to clean the streets and sidewalks in front of their homes, apartments, schools and businesses. After all, that’s the way it’s done in China.
