A pipe bomb exploded outside a Granada Hills house on Tuesday, propelling debris through a window but causing no injuries, police said.
The small bomb exploded about 7:30 in front of the house on the 15800 block of Blackhawk Street, Sgt. Bill Thomas of the Los Angeles Police Department said. Although the residence was occupied, no one was hurt and the blast did not seriously damage the house.
Police said they had no idea why the bomb was placed in front of the house, and no similar explosions have occurred in the neighborhood. Detectives from the criminal conspiracy section are investigating the incident.
