The acclaimed Irish group Altan will serve up a feast of jigs and reels in Ojai when they appear at Matilija Junior High School, 703 El Paseo, on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
With four albums out on the well-known Irish label Green Linnett, Altan is one of the better-known exponents of traditional Irish music.
The group was founded by fiddler and singer Mairead Ni Nhaonaigh and flutist Frankie Kennedy. Rounding out the group are Claran Curran on bouzouki, Daithi Sproule on vocals and guitar, and Paul O’Shaughnessy, also on fiddle.
In addition to their tightly navigated dance tunes, Nhaonaigh sings songs in an a cappella style.
Tickets are $10. Info: 646-5163.
