Lindsay Davenport, a high school junior who turned pro last week at Indian Wells, upset third-seeded Gabriela Sabatini, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, in the third round at the Virginia Slims of Florida at Delray Beach.
Top-seeded Steffi Graf, No. 2 Arantxa Sanchez Vicario and No. 4 Mary Joe Fernandez also advanced to the quarterfinals in straight sets.
