PREP NOTES : Newport Harbor Ready to Defend Orange County Championships Title

Defending champion Newport Harbor will be among the 22 boys’ high school volleyball teams competing in the Orange County Championships this weekend at Marina and Huntington Beach gyms.
Newport Harbor will be one of 12 teams competing in Division I at Marina High. Division II matches will be at Huntington Beach.
Pool play starts today at 5:30 p.m. with playoffs beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. The finals are tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m.
The pairings:
Division I: Pool A--Esperanza, Newport Harbor, Fountain Valley, San Clemente. Pool B--Huntington Beach, Irvine, Woodbridge, Marina. Pool C--Laguna Beach, Santa Margarita, Dana Hills, Edison.
Division II: Pool A--Whittier Christian, Los Alamitos, University, La Quinta, Costa Mesa. Pool B--Ocean View, Garden Grove, Mission Viejo, El Dorado, Foothill.
