BURBANK : Visitor Accused of Starting House Fire

An 18-year-old Texas man visiting his great-aunt in Burbank was arrested on suspicion of lighting her house on fire Thursday, police said.
Billy George Casey Jr. of Baytown was taken into custody after setting fire to the one-story house in the 2100 block of Dymond Street about 7 a.m., Detective Carl Costanzo said. Casey, who was not injured, was the only one in the house at the time.
The fire caused about $25,000 in losses and damaged a garage and patio area, fire investigators said.
Police have determined no motive for the arson, Costanzo said. Casey told police that he “just became angry” and used a flammable liquid, poured in spots in the garage, to start the blaze, Costanzo said.
Casey, who had been in Burbank for two to three weeks, was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, police said. He will be arraigned Monday in Burbank Municipal Court.
