Fraternity Is Not Racist

I am appalled at the recent outrage by MEChA members at Cal State Northridge, who complain their rights were violated by a flyer that Zeta Beta Tau sent out for a party last October.
ZBT has apologized on many occasions for its insensitive use of the word “Lupe.”
ZBT has taken the harsh punishment of being suspended for six months and has agreed to do numerous other things, including a sensitivity course. ZBT has taken a severe punishment for an insensitive comment. But the bigger problem is MEChA distributing a flyer that contains rude comments about ZBT and the Greek system.
MEChA is trying to strong-arm the public into believing that ZBTs are all racist and sexist.
In reality, ZBT is just the opposite. Members are white, Black, Mexican, Jewish, Catholic and many other races and religions.
