Four people were killed when their car crashed into a disabled vehicle in the car-pool lane of the Redondo Beach Freeway in Compton, the CHP said Sunday.
The accident, which occurred late Saturday near the Central Avenue off-ramp, claimed the lives of Jose Arteaga, 36, his wife, Morina Sanchez, 35, their 4-year-old son and a 9-year-old niece.
Investigators said Arteaga’s Toyota was rounding a curve at high speed when it hit a disabled Thunderbird that had spun out of control and was left unattended, facing the wrong direction with its lights out.
