MTM Entertainment Inc., a financially troubled Studio City television production firm acquired in January by televangelist Pat Robertson’s International Family Entertainment, said its chief executive, Bob Klosterman, is leaving the company “to pursue other interests.”
MTM, which produces “Evening Shade” and “The New WKRP in Cincinnati,” also said it would lay off at least 15 of its 75 employees.
There is no appointed successor to Klosterman. Instead, MTM said, its newly named president of worldwide distribution, Charles W. Larsen, and Bill Allen, who continues as president of MTM Television, will manage the company. They will report directly to Tim Robertson, International Family Entertainment’s chief executive and Pat Robertson’s son, who is based in Virginia Beach, Va.
Larsen joins MTM from Republic Pictures Corp., where he was president of domestic TV distribution.
