Sears Cutting Prices on Catalogue Items to Clear Inventories
- Share via
CHICAGO — Sears, Roebuck & Co. is offering discounts up to 30% as it depletes inventories of the catalogue operations it is closing.
Sears has also extended to April 30 its plans to detail what will happen to about 2,000 dealer-owned catalogue stores slated for closure by year’s end.
The merchandise discount is tied to the value of items bought through April 1. Orders of $200 or more will receive a 30% discount with 20% discounts on orders of $100 to $200.
The discounts cover not only the spring 1993 catalogue, the last Sears will publish in almost a century of selling by mail, but its fall 1992 catalogue as well.
