BEVERLY HILLS : Defendant in Murder Trial Escapes From Courthouse

An ex-convict accused of murdering a Gardena stable hand 15 months ago escaped from a Beverly Hills courthouse Wednesday.
David (Coondog) Wall, 27, got away about 1:40 p.m., after meeting with his attorney in a conference room at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies said. Wall apparently kicked out a metal security screen and fled down a hall. Municipal Judge Elden S. Fox, who was presiding over Wall’s case, spotted the defendant outside the courthouse and alerted police.
Wall was described as white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 to 230 pounds, with a shaved head and a long, red goatee. He is charged in the Jan. 2, 1992, abduction and slaying of Dennis Horn, 37.
