Anti-Violence Campaign: Los Angeles artist Mike McNeilly continues his “Lethal Art” campaign on Saturday with the scheduled 3 p.m. unveiling of a three-part paintings series called “Stop the Violence, Save the Children.” The paintings, 50x100 feet each and depicting children holding guns, will be erected in Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard’s Playboy and 9000 buildings. Says McNeilly: “Bullets have replaced words; television and film are constantly attacking kids’ minds. Children watch 28 violent acts per hour on TV. One child commits suicide every six hours with a gun.”
