So after reading column after column about Geffen’s new priorities that center on political lobbying, I’m left with a portrait of a rich man who’s discovered a new hobby. But a man who apparently never reads a book, has no coherent philosophy that he articulates either through work or play and whose “legend” devolves in part from successfully avoiding penance for faking critical parts of a resume to gain a job.
Like too many Hollywood types, Geffen has the Midas touch in making money in the entertainment business but displays nothing beyond his money to make anyone seriously consider his opinions about the country’s future.
