Kennard is an inspiration for all our young people who complain about their lot in life. Should President Clinton take note of her, she will not face the confirmation hurdles that Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood did, as she has not chosen to combine her legal career with being a mother. American society does not help its outstanding women balance these dual roles, and that is America’s great loss.
