Joseph P. Ruiz has been promoted to vice president, corporate audit and financial planning for Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Newport Beach. Ruiz, who joined Pacific Mutual last year, has headed the corporate audit and financial planning areas of the company since July. Previously, he spent six years with Price Waterhouse, nine years in his own consulting practice and three years as chief financial officer for a real estate developer.
