Chavez threw his first no-hitter as he led the Grizzlies to an 11-0 victory over Mesrobian High of Pico Rivera. Chavez also was impressive as a hitter, going 2 for 2 and batting in 2 runs.

Paul Doemeny, a senior volleyball player at St. John Bosco High of Bellflower, recorded 20 kills as the Braves defeated La Serna, 15-11, 15-7, 15-9.
