FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Saturday Sign-Ups for Youth Soccer

Young people interested in playing soccer can sign up Saturday for the fall season with Region 5 of the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center in Mile Square Park, Brookhurst Street and Heil Avenue.

Region 5 is bounded on the north by the Garden Grove Freeway, on the south by Ellis Avenue, on the east by the Santa Ana River and on the west by Beach Boulevard.

Players must be between 4 1/2 and 19 as of Aug. 1.

Cost of registration is $55 per player and includes uniforms, team and individual pictures, insurance for the soccer events and player awards.

The fall season will begin in early September and run through December for most age groups.
