Faria Wins Four-Lap Scratch Main Event

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Apple Valley won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday in front of 6,120 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Billy Hamill of Monrovia finished second, Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was third, and Bobby Hedden of Orangevale fourth in the scratch main.

Oxley won the eight-lap handicap main and Rob Pfetzing of Orange finished second. Costa Mesa’s Charlie Venegas and Bobby Schwartz finished third and fourth in the handicap main.
