PREP NOTES : Unbeaten Troy Starts Tournament Against Canyon

Troy, the only undefeated baseball team in Orange County, will begin play today in the Anaheim Lions’ Tournament.
The Warriors, ranked ninth in the county, will play Canyon at 4 p.m. at Glover Stadium in one of eight first-round games. The championship game is scheduled Wednesday.
The Pride of the Coast and the Santa Ana Elks tournaments also start today and conclude Wednesday.
The Upper Deck Tournament, which features some of the top teams in the nation, begins Monday. Included in that field is Miami Westminster Christian, the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, according to USA Today.
Mater Dei, ranked No. 1 in the county, El Dorado, Esperanza and Irvine are the Orange County teams in the tournament.
County soccer players John Bamford of Santa Margarita and Jason Boyce of Corona del Mar will represent the United States on the under-18 national team April 25 to May 1, when they travel to Paris, where they will play other national teams from Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Bamford and Boyce recently returned from a weeklong training camp in Orlando, Fla.
