San Gabriel Valley : Free Yardwork for Elderly
- Share via
The Kiwanis clubs of La Puente and the City of Industry have offered to help senior citizens in those cities with their exterior yardwork at no charge on May 1.
With the help of a group of teen-age volunteers from Workman High School in the City of Industry, Kiwanis will lend a hand with lawn mowing, hedge clipping and other yardwork. This is the second year for the one-day event. It is intended to help senior citizens who do not have the physical stamina or money to do yardwork by themselves.
Interested people may sign up now by calling Rick Hartmann, La Puente’s community development director, at (818) 855-1500. Requests for work will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
