PREP ROUNDUP : La Quinta Wins in Volleyball

Outside hitter Brad Huss had 16 kills to help La Quinta to a 15-6, 15-4, 15-9 victory over Garden Grove Wednesday in a Garden Grove League boys’ volleyball match at Garden Grove.

La Quinta is 10-1, 7-0 in league. Seth Hall had 15 kills for Garden Grove (6-5, 4-3).

In the King of the Mountain golf tournament:

Santa Margarita finishes third--Medalist Steve Wagner shot a one-under-par 71 to lead Santa Margarita at Chalk Mountain G.C. in Atascadero.

In Garden Grove League golf:

Garden Grove 247, La Quinta 253--Alex Yi shot a three-over 39 at Mile Square for La Quinta.

In girls’ nonleague swimming:

Mater Dei 95, Rosary 75--Suzie Barker won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.45 for Mater Dei (3-2-1).

In boys’ nonleague swimming:

Mater Dei 87, Servite 83--Mike Ciecek won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle for Mater Dei (2-4).
