Jury Rules for Bengals in Lawsuit

A jury in Cincinnati has ruled that a woman who accused several Cincinnati Bengals of rape must abide by a contract she signed, which was to prevent her from pursuing a legal case against the players in exchange for $30,000.

An unidentified woman alleged that she had consensual sex with one of the Bengals’ players, then was gang-raped at the team hotel in suburban Seattle in October of 1990.

She accepted a $30,000 payment from several players, but later said she did not understand that a waiver she signed meant that she would not get any more money.

No criminal charges were filed against any of the players.
