Theft Probe Leads to Orange, Arrest

A 30-year-old man was arrested here Thursday when Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies investigating a robbery in Pico Rivera traced about $200,000 worth of stolen goods to a warehouse in the 900 block of Elm Street, authorities said.

Tony Zavala of Laguna Niguel was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of receiving stolen property, said Sgt. Walter Boskovich of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“One of our deputies, who was doing a follow-up on a stolen property report, developed a case which took him to this warehouse in Orange,” Boskovich said. “He recovered stolen goods including bikes, furniture, pots and pans and other items.”

The sergeant said the goods are believed to have been stolen from a cargo shipment.
