Nation IN BRIEF : TEXAS : 30 Injured as Jet’s Landing Gear Fails

The landing gear of a DC-10 airliner collapsed moments after the plane touched down at Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport during heavy showers and at least 30 people were injured during an evacuation, officials said. A 79-year-old woman suffered a broken neck and was in serious condition, a hospital said. Another 29 people were taken to hospitals. The American Airlines jet carried 202 passengers and crew from Honolulu, an airline spokesman said.
