Tom Hall feared his pitchers might develop stiff arms after they threw extra batting practice last week. Instead, it was the batters who were stiff.
Lincoln High lost two games to Franklin last week in matchups between the top Northern Conference teams. They managed only nine hits and three runs in both games.
In Thursday’s game, Panther pitcher Jimmy Verdin kept Lincoln off-balance, giving up only four hits and four walks in 6 1/3 innings to lead the Tigers to a 3-2 win. He struck out six.
