Platinum Software Sees Rise in Profits for 3rd Quarter

Platinum Software Corp., the Irvine software company, reported that profit for its fiscal third quarter jumped to $872,000, or 11 cents a share, from $170,000, or 3 cents a share, for the period a year earlier.
Revenue for the three months ended March 31 nearly doubled to $9.3 million from $4.7 million.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, the company posted a profit of $1.8 million, or 26 cents a share, up from $844,000, or 15 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier.
Nine-month revenue more than doubled to $22.9 million from $10.9 million.
