HUNTINGTON BEACH : High School Squad to Compete in Japan

Huntington Beach High School’s 32-member drill team captured first-place honors in the Miss Drill Team USA competition earlier this month in Los Angeles and will compete in an international drill team event in Japan in August.
The local team hopes to participate in the city’s Fourth of July Parade and to sell candy at the event, drill team adviser Margaret Murray said. It will be one of several fund-raising efforts to pay expenses for the trip to Japan.
Melissa Clark is captain of the team and Melanie Dunn is a co-captain.
Other members are Brittany Skutvik, Lacy Holau, Kristi Brezden, Megan Baswell, Melissa Brescini, Michelle Cedillos, Rene Corbett, Heidi Dart, Shelby Dickenson, Lisa DiGiovanni, Sarah Fish, Sara Henricks, Heidi Jung, Audrey Kim, Kelly Kreil, Kim LaMagna, Heather Layton, Laila McElroy, Megan Mooney, Nikki Navarrete, Alexis O’Brien, Renee Pan, Christin Parie, Bianca Perri, Kristie Schweers, Kristi Sewell, Danett Smith, Erica Utz, Kelly Vaughan and Jana Wittren.
