Middle Blocker Commits to UCI

Santa Margarita volleyball player Greg Sternchak has signed with UC Irvine, Santa Margarita Coach Keith Albi said Sunday.
Sternchak, a 6-foot-6 middle blocker, chose Irvine over Loyola Marymount. He plans to study economics at Irvine.
Sternchak plays for the Balboa Bay Club team and was an all-South Coast League pick last season.
Sternchak is the second middle blocker Irvine has landed, joining Chris Cote of San Diego University of San Diego, who plans to walk on to the team next season.
