Aliso Niguel Selects Teal, Wolverines

The students have spoken, and Orange County’s newest high school will get a mascot Michigan fans can be proud of--the Wolverines.
That’s the result of a vote by future students at Aliso Niguel High School, who selected the animal native to the northern United States.
Students did show some keen marketing insight, however, in selecting the school colors: teal, black and white. Teal is one of the hottest colors in professional sports marketing. Among teams wearing teal and black are the NHL San Jose Sharks and baseball’s Florida Marlins.
Students from Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo will make up the student population at the Aliso Viejo school, which opens Sept. 9.
